The Mid-Hudson Radio Control Society hosted the 47th annual
R/C Jamboree at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome as they do on the
weekend after Labor Day each year. As usual, participants came from
as far north as Canada to as far south as Florida and Texas to fly
their scale models of pre-WWII aircraft. This year in addition to 100 or
so models with wingspans ranging from just a few inches to 10′,
three 1/2-scale WWI models were flown throughout the weekend.
These included a Fokker Triplane, SPAD XIII and a Nieuport 28.
One of the stand-out models was a 1/3-scale Bristol Scout which was
scratch-built by Brian Perkins of Canada.
